Jamie Jaren, the thirteen-year-old Lazer Tag champion who possesses curious powers over the energy emitted from her Lazer Tag StarLyteâ„¢ unit, chases her evil ancestor Draxon Drear to the year 1987, to protect Beth Jaren, a distant ancestor of Jamie. Drear reasons that by kidnapping Beth and changing history, Jamie will never be born, and no one will be able to stop the evil Drear.
Draxon Drear's plan to turn the Jaren kids into mutant Skuggs backfires when these volatile creatures damage the transmitter mechanism. Everyone in the world except the Jaren kids gets Skugg-ized, so it falls to them to reverse the effects and return the world to normality.
